So much to see and do while Swans are in Coffs

The Sydney Swans will be conducting an AFL Community Camp in Coffs Harbour from January 29 to 31.

THERE will be opportunities for footy fans of all ages to get up with the close with the Sydney Swans playing group while they enjoy an AFL Community Camp in Coffs Harbour.

The Swans will be in Coffs Harbour from January 29 to 31 and have many activities planned while they also continue preparations for the 2024 season.

On Monday, January 29 the Sydney Swans will run a Super Clinic for Auskick/Junior Participants, a Coaching Development Session, and a Club Volunteer Session from throughout the day, featuring both players and coaches.

All of the above events will take place at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

The Super Clinic for kids aged 5 to 16 will start at 3.30pm and continue until 5pm. The Swans players will then be having a signing session with participants after the Clinic.

The Coaching Development Session will be from 5.30pm to 7pm.

This session will see Sydney Swans coaching staff and the AFL’s newly appointed Coach Developer for our region, Tim Davis, discuss with coaches some drills and simple methods designed to keep players engaged while local Northern Heat and Swans Academy players demonstrate the drills for all. The theme of the session will be based around not requiring an encyclopaediac knowledge of the game to be a successful coach.

The Club Volunteer Session is a way of saying thank you to the marvellous volunteers in the region who give so much of their time and effort to ensure football clubs run as smoothly as possible.

Also running from 5.30pm to 7pm, the Club Volunteer Session will be a catered event where volunteers can enjoy some finger food, a drink and a chance to rub shoulders with Swans players and support staff.

Sydney Swans Executive GM Football – AFL, Leon Cameron said the club is looking forward to returning to Coffs Harbour which has become a home away from home for the red and whites.

“Pre-season camps are a great chance for our team to bond and learn in a different environment, and I couldn’t think of a better place for us to be heading than Coffs Harbour,” Cameron said.

The camp will finish with the Sydney Swans playing an intra-club practice match at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on Wednesday, January 31 from 9am to 11am. This match will be open to the public to attend free of charge.
