The Northern NSW Championships in Coffs Harbour will be the only representative carnival junior players in the region will play in in 2024.

The Hunter Challenge Cup which has been held over the June long weekend in the past in the Hunter/Central Coast region is not being held this year.

The dates for the Coffs Harbour event at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium and adjacent Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park grounds have been locked in. The Northern NSW Championships will be held across three days – Wednesday, July 17, Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19.

The Force, the moniker given to AFL North Coast’s representative program, will again be fielding both boys and girls teams in the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 age groups.

“Not playing this year at Tuggerah is disappointing but it allows our juniors to focus on putting on a good show on home soil in July,” Community Football and Competition Manager Brad Greenshields said.

“The Force teams in all age groups have been improving year-on-year and 2024 promises to be a strong showing in Coffs Harbour.”

With the start of the 2024 season rapidly approaching, applications for coaching and team manager positions will be called for shortly.

The positions will be finalised before trial are held in early April.
