Deja selected in AFL Diversity Academy

Bellingen Bulldogs player Deja Barlow is one of just 21 players from across NSW and the ACT to be selected in the 2023 AFL Diversity Academies.

The 17 year-old has been picked in the AFL Indigenous Academy for Girls.

The AFL Diversity Academies comprise the Indigenous Academy and Multicultural Academy for boys and girls.

Participants in the AFL Diversity Academies are aged 16 to 18.

Over the pre-season Deja has been involved in the AFL NSW/ACT’s Multicultural and Indigenous Youth Leadership Programs, supported by Transport for NSW and was part of the national Woomeras program.

The 2023 AFL Diversity Academies will take part in an induction camp in Adelaide which will feature a mixture of training, education sessions, team building and cultural activities.

The girls induction camp will be held from Wednesday, April 26 to Friday, April 28.
