The Swans won three consecutive games late in the regular season to secure eighth position on the ladder, and an Elimination Final as part of the 2023 NAB AFLW Finals. Gowans attested that the side will need to keep the momentum going to record a win on the Gold Coast. 

Senior coach Scott Gowans admits Sydney are the “underdogs” going into the clash but is excited at the prospect of growth for the league, particularly in New South Wales and Queensland. 

Former Gunnedah Bulldog, Alice Mitchell will start at halfback for the swans, and will be hoping for a season best performance against the strong Suns outfit.
