Heat program up and running for summer
PLAYERS born in 2008 and 2009 are invited to attend the trial for this summer’s Northern Heat Development Program.
The funding gap that created doubts about the feasibility of the Program has been filled and now it’s full steam ahead for the 2024/25 summer.
The Northern Heat program provides the selected boys and girls with the chance to take their game to the next level.
The program exists to build the footy IQ of players, transition them through the ranks towards senior footy and offer them a first look at some elite training aspects such as fitness programs, strength and conditioning training, awareness of nutrition and hydration and methods to aid post-exercise recovery.
The program features the best male and female players from both the North West and North Coast regions. Players who have trialled for a North Coast Force representative team will be looked upon favourably by the selectors.
Players that meet the age criteria that wish to be considered for selection must complete the ONLINE NOMINATION FORM by Wednesday, October 9 and attend the selection trial in Coffs Harbour on Sunday, October 13 or Armidale on Sunday, October 27.
For those players selected in the program, the cost for families will be $110 per player.
The program will include a pre-Christmas session in Coffs Harbour in November and a further one in Armidale in early December where players will be given a home training program for December and January.
The program’s training sessions will resume across February and March and this summer will include a session being held in Port Macquarie.
The program will finish with a match for each squad on the Gold Coast in late March.
