Port pair at National Championships

A pair of Port Macquarie players are on the Gold Coast this week representing the Sydney Swans Academy at the 2023 AFL National Development Championships for Under 16 Boys.

Reeve Simmons and Tom Ryan played at Heritage Bank Stadium on Monday as the Swans took on the Brisbane Lions Academy.

Both standing at an imposing 195cm tall, the pair shared ruck and key position duties in the clash that the saw the Lions Academy win 10.14 (74) to 8.2 (50).

The Sydney Swans Academy team will be playing again on Thursday when they face the Gold Coast Suns Academy at Fankhauser Reserve.
