SENIOR MEN (4.00pm) – COFFS BREAKERS vs. PORT MACQUARIE

BOTH the Coffs Breakers and Port Macquarie will be chasing their own slice of history in the Men’s Grand Final.

For Port Macquarie they will chasing a title the Magpies haven’t won since 2013. For the Breakers it will be an opportunity to complete some unfinished business after finishing on top of the ladder last year but not being able to play any finals due to a COVID lockdown just as the business end of the season had started.

The Coffs team will head into the match as warm favourites courtesy of having two victories this year over their Grand Final opponent.

Previous meetings:

June 25 – Coffs Breakers 14.11 (95) def Port Macquarie 9.13 (67)

August 13 – Coffs Breakers 12.14 (86) def Port Macquarie 8.3 (51)

RESERVES (2.00pm) – COFFS BREAKERS vs. CASINO LIONS

THE Coffs Breakers have won both of their matches against the Casino Lions so far this season but the Lions are coming.

The Casino team has reached the grand final after overcoming a slow start to the season. The Lions lost the first four matches they played this season but turned they form around to win six of their past seven matches including last week’s Extra Time thriller in the Preliminary Final.

Saturday will be the first Grand Final in the history of the Casino Lions but standing in their way will be the Coffs Breakers who have sat on top of the Reserves ladder throughout the 2022 season.

Previous Meetings:

June 4 – Coffs Breakers 14.3 (87) def Casino Lions 1.4 (10)

July 23 – Coffs Breakers 4.4 (28) def Casino Lions 1.7 (13)

Coffs Breakers stalwart Brayden Coad feels the full force of a bump from a Casino Lions opponent.

WOMEN (12.10pm) – COFFS BREAKERS vs. NORTHERN BEACHES

THIS is a meeting of two best women’s teams of the past three years.

Northern Beaches and the Coffs Breakers have been on a collision course almost since day one of the season with Saturday’s Grand Final being the pre-ordained meeting point.

Honours between the Breakers and Blues have been split at two wins apiece in 2022 but it’s been Northern Beaches who’ve had the better of the most recent meetings including a surprise 68 point margin when these two sides last met five weeks ago.

May 28 – Coffs Breakers 5.6 (36) def Northern Beaches 5.5 (35)

UNDER-17s (10.00am) – COFFS BREAKERS vs. SAWTELL/TOORMINA

SAWTELL/Toormina has already caused one upset so far in this finals series, can they cause another?

The Saints have been the only team this year to defeat the Coffs Breakers and will hope history can repeat itself.

The trouble is the top of the ladder Coffs Breakers are full of confidence from the past two meetings against the cross-town rival where the average winning margin has been 93 points.

This will be the first match of what promises to be an action packed Grand Final Day at the Stadium.
