Senior fixture for 2025 released

THE fixture for the 2025 AFL North Coast senior competition has been finalised and it’s now little more than six weeks until the season begins.

When the first bounce of the season takes place on April 12, the AFL North Coast will have seven clubs fielding teams in at least one of the four grades.

AFL Northern NSW Community Football & Competition Manager Brad Greenshields said the 2025 season promises to be a great one.

“The return of the Macleay Valley Eagles this year has the local footy community excited for the season ahead,” Greenshields said.

“The standard of football played in the AFL North Coast has improved each year, particularly in the women’s competition, and I’ve no doubt it will again in 2025.

“Of course a major highlight this year will be the representative football matches for both the men and women being hosted by the AFL North West in Gunnedah on June 28.”

Other highlights of the upcoming 2025 season are:

  • The season starts on April 12. Macleay Valley will mark they return with a match against Sawtell/Toormina;
  • The Grand Finals will be part of a big weekend of North Coast football with the big day for the seniors being played at C.ex Coffs International Stadium on Saturday, August 23 before the juniors play their grand finals at the same venue the next day.;
  • A replay of the men’s Grand Final between Port Macquarie and the Coffs Breakers will be played in Round 4, a fixture that will see the two clubs vie for the Sheldon/Morgan Cup in honour of two families who’ve given so much to their respective clubs.

The 2025 fixture has been loaded into PlayHQ and can be found under the Fixtures & Results tab in the Menu of the AFL North Coast’s website.
