The chance to progress through a talent pathway is important to players who want to test themselves and play at the highest level possible.
North Coast Force junior representative teams
AFL North Coast runs a junior representative program for both male and female athletes, offering teams at Under 13, Under 15, Under 17, Youth Girls 13, Youth Girls 15, and Youth Girls 17 age groups. These teams are known as the NORTH COAST FORCE.
Our rep teams play in the Northern NSW Championships each year in Coffs Harbour, where we come up against players and teams from the Central Coast, Hunter Metro, Hunter Country, North West and Illawarra.
In 2026 the Northern NSW Championship will be played at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium and adjacent Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park over three days from Wednesday, July 15 to Friday, July 17.
Trials for the junior representative teams are being held on March 22 and March 29. CLICK HERE to register a player to attend one or both of these trials.

North Coast Force senior representative teams
In 2025 the AFL North Coast will have both a men’s and women’s representative team playing.
On July 18 the senior North Coast Force teams will be the hosts in matches againt both the AFL North West and AFL Central West.
Luke Valdes was named as the best player for the North Coast Force men’s representative team in their big win over the AFL North West.
Northern Heat
The Northern Heat Development AFL program comprises the best male and female players from both the North Coast and North West regions in the Under 17 age group.
This off-season program exists to extend the representative pathway for the players of the regions and provide them with a further avenue to build their game ahead of transitioning towards senior footy.
The program finishes with practice matches against Gold Coast opposition. From this, Heat players have been invited to trial with the Southport Sharks team that plays in the VFL competition.
