Montana’s a National Winner in Volunteer of the Year Awards

THE work of Montana Harvey educating and mentoring AFL North Coast Umpires has been recognised with the AFL National Community Umpiring Service Award.

The Award is part of the AFL’s Volunteer of the Year Awards. After Montana was announced as the NSW/ACT winner in the category, her nomination was compared to all of the other State Community Umpiring Service winners and she was selected as the winner.

As one of the national winners, Montana will receive a once-in-a-lifetime 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final experience where she’ll be able to soak up the incredible atmosphere of the last Saturday in September at the MCG and participate in the Toyota Grand Final Parade.

Her prize includes free return flights as well as three nights of accommodation in Melbourne.

AFL Executive General Manager Game Development, Rob Auld, said communty footy is made possible by the passionate and dedicated volunteers who give up their time each week for our game and for their community.

“With over 220,000 volunteers in Australia, the Toyota National Volunteer of the Year Awards highlight some of the most impactful individuals and clubs,” Auld said.
