Coaches needed for Force rep teams
NOMINATIONS are now open for coaches wishing to be involved in the North Coast Force Junior representative program for 2025.
The focus of the Force rep program will be on the development of the individual players, rather than team performance.
This year the junior representative teams will be playing in the Northern NSW Championships to be held at Coffs Harbour from Tuesday 8 July to Thursday 10 July.
Age groups for both boys and girls will be Under 13 (born 2012 and 2013), Under 15 (born 2010 and 2011), and Under 17 (born 2008 and 2009).
Each team will have a Coach and at least one Assistant Coach appointed, with all coaches required to hold a minimum of a current Registered coaching accreditation (preferably higher) as well as a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Each team will also have a Manager who should have experience in a similar role and will ideally hold a current First Aid accreditation (or similar).
Being a part of the Force program is a great opportunity for local coaches to build their knowledge and skill set for the benefit of all teams they coach. Force coaches will have access to professional development opportunities, guidance, and technical advice from Sydney Swans Academy personnel.
Prospective coaches and managers will need to be able to commit to the open selection trials for the 2024 program on Sunday 23 March and Sunday 30 March.
Once the squads have been selected, training sessions will be held on Wednesdays May 7, May 21, June 11 and June 25.
