AFL North Coast junior rep teams finlised

THE AFL North Coast has announced four of the six North Coast Force representative teams that will compete at the Northern NSW representative carnival in Coffs Harbour on July 8, 9 and 10.
All three of the Force girls teams have been finalised while the Under 17 boys team has also been selected.
Due to the inclement weather experienced in recent weeks, a full set of selection trials for the Under 13 boys and Under 15 boys couldn’t be completed. These teams will be announced in early May when a second trial is conducted.
The Force will again be fielding boys and girls teams in the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 age groups in 2025.
Since first being created in 2017, the quality of the North Coast Force brand has continued to strengthen the quality of the representative program. Players responded to this year’s program with record numbers attending trials, particularly in the girls age groups, and the 2025 program has already built upon last season’s successes.
AFL North Coast Community Football Manager, Brad Greenshields, said that the program continues to grow in both popularity and opportunity.
“This season we had an outstanding turn-out to the rep trials, both in numbers attending and in the depth of quality. We’re really excited by the standard of each of the teams and can’t wait to see them performing on home soil within our region,” Greenshields said.
The carnival in July will see the North Coast Force teams battle it out against Central Coast, Hunter Coast and Illawarra to determine the winner of the Simon Smyth Cup.
Greenshields said the representative carnival will feature not just the best underage players living in the Northern NSW and Illawarra regions, but also a further improvement in the standard of play on previous iterations of junior representative carnivals.
“The improved standard in all of the leagues, not just the AFL North Coast, means the football played during the championships will be very entertaining for those watching,” he said.
“From a Force point of view this means that the North Coast players will have a great chance to test themselves against the best players in Northern NSW which will further their football development.”
