Important update on Senior Grand Finals
The Senior Grand Finals are only days away, but there will be different aspects to the day compared to the traditional model that we’re all used to.
We’ve come so far this season, and overcome so many challenges, and we need to make sure that we we continue to comply with the requirements of NSW Health in relation to the COVID pandemic. This will include:
- Encouraging people to adhere to the state government’s recommended principles of “Get in, Play, Get out”.
- Grand Finals to be ticketed events to enable AFL North Coast to keep a comprehensive register of players, spectators, and officials inside the venue. Ticket are available for players, officials, and spectators from EventBrite. Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for people aged 13 to 17 and concession holders, and free for people aged 12 years and younger.
- All Grand Finals to be live streamed so no-one misses out on the action! Links to the streaming will be on the AFL North Coast Facebook page later in the week.
- Reduced capacity in all areas of the Stadium, with grand stand seating limited by having seats taped off to assist with social distancing. See the venue map for maximum capacity in each spectator area.
- Limited presentations and team photos to control the amount of person to person contact and maintain appropriate social distancing.
- Access to the playing surface to be limited to players and officials only, so no kick to kick between quarters, listening in to huddles, or post match celebrations on field involving spectators.
- No Footy Record to be produced as this removes the need for documents to be passed from one person to another.
- COVID Safety Marshalls roaming the crowd to help make sure we adhere to the social distancing rules.
Season 2020 has been the most challenging yet. Let’s finish it off in style in a manner that ensures there are no extra restrictions placed upon our sport in the 2021 season. Let’s all enjoy our Grand Final day in a COVID responsible way!
