NSW Institue of Sport launches ‘High Performance at Home’

Experts at the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) have banded together to create a campaign aimed at helping athletes of all ages and ability levels maintain their physical and mental wellbeing at home.

As the nation becomes increasingly isolated in an effort to stem the spread of COVID-19, the Institute’s staff are drawing on their expertise to create High Performance at Home resources applicable to the wider community.

Spanning nutrition, strength and conditioning, performance psychology, biomechanics, physiotherapy, and more, NSWIS will be developing a series of infographics, articles and videos to enhance the experiences of those currently working and facing the (daunting) challenge of exercising from home.

NSWIS CEO Kevin Thompson spoke proudly about the campaign.

“We all have a role to play by isolating ourselves and remaining in our homes”, he said.

“I’m incredibly pleased NSWIS has been able to utilise our expertise to assist the wider community in managing and maintaining their health during this period.”

“Our experts are used to working with athletes in a range of often stressful and difficult conditions so it’s great to be able to apply that knowledge and experience to help the people of NSW and Australia.”
