Where are they now? Max Lower
Max Lower is a Port Macquarie Magpie through and through, having played for both the Junior and Senior clubs. He quickly established himself as one of the region’s brightest prospects and was rewarded in 2016 with NSW/ACT Rams Under 18 selection, playing at the National Championships, as well as playing for the Sydney Swans Reserves in the NEAFL.
At the start of 2017 Max moved to Sydney to start university and to pursue footy at the highest level. He played club footy for the UNSW-Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs in the AFL Sydney Premier Division where he notched up 14 games, 11 goals and was adjudged to be in the team’s best on seven occasions. As a result of these outstanding performances the young gun from Port Macquarie was awarded the Jack Dean trophy for the club’s Best & Fairest in the Premier Division.
Max’s performances were also noticed by the Sydney Swans when he was called up to the Swans Reserves for three NEAFL matches.
In 2018 Max will be moving to Adelaide where he will link with North Adelaide and will be hoping that a strong pre-season campaign will result in the chance to play in the SANFL competition.
