Sydney Swans coach Scott Gowans said the team is hoping the North Coast community will get to the C.ex Coffs International Stadium in big numbers and throw their support behind the Swans who are playing a home game at Coffs Harbour for the first time.
“I had a good look at Richmond. They did very well against GWS. They’ve got a really good core group of players. And it’s really important that our fans get to the game and support us,” Gowans said.
“We’re looking for a good turnout, nice and loud, to help get us over the line. But I think it’ll be a good game of footy.”
Richmond recruit Jodie Hicks was traded to the Tigers in the off-season from the GWS Giants. As a former Sydney Sixers cricketer, Hicks is no stranger to the C.ex Coffs International Stadium and she’s looking forward to returning to the venue once again.
“I’ve been there a few times for a couple of different sports,” Hicks said.
“I really enjoy going to Coffs, they’re really good at putting on women’s sports so can’t wait.”
