Kangaroos awarded Junior and Youth Girls Uniform Grant
Youth Girls players at North Coffs will benefit in 2025 and beyond thanks to a Junior and Youth Girls Uniform Grant.
The Kangaroos applied earlier this year and were named as one of 14 clubs across the state to be awarded a grant.
The club will use the $800 granted to it to purchase a new set of football jumpers in a women’s cut that will make playing a more comfortable experience for the girls.
Stephanie Clarke, the Women and Girls Community Football Lead for NSW/ACT, said the application from North Coffs was one of the standouts.
“Although we received many applications for the Junior & Youth Girls Uniform Grant, it was difficult to award every club with funding or full amounts of funding. The assessment panel found, North Coffs eagerness to provide their Under 13 Youth Girls with a uniform in a Women’s cut that fits is essential to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment, that makes the players feel safe and comfortable is the cornerstone to growing the game for Junior & Youth Girls in the region heading into 2025 and beyond,” Clarke said.
“Women and Girls is one of the fastest growing spaces for participation in sport, and highlighting your Club as a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment is key to growing. One way to do this is to become an AFL Women & Girls Chartered Club, head here to find out more!.”
