North Coast players named in Academy squads

A TOTAL of 37 AFL North Coast juniors have been selected to be part of a QBE Sydney Swans Academy squad.

After selection trials were held in early October, Academy staff pored over the results of the tests and selected 13 girls and 24 boys from the North Coast the be part of next year’s Under 11 to Under 15 aged squads.

This is a tremendous achievement for the young footballers and a pat on the back for the local football community and the amount of young talent that is being produced in the area.

QBE Sydney Swans Academy Technical Director Leon Cameron said the list of players selected for the older benchmark age groups is being finalised over the next few weeks.
