THE Sydney Swans AFLW team made sure they got involved with the local footy community during their pre-season camp in Coffs Harbour.

While the team worked hard during a couple of gruelling pre-season sessions at C.ex Coffs International Stadium, there were plenty of local players who had the chance to rub shoulders with the AFLW stars.

Within minutes of landing at Coffs Harbour Airport on Friday, some of the Swans were off to Richardson Park where they helped conduct a Senior Schools Gala day before sweating it out in their first training session.

A photo session at the Big Banana on Saturday morning was followed by another training session at the Stadium before the players hosted a clinic and signing session for more than 30 local players.

Two groups of young girls in particular were thrilled with the effort some of the Sydney Swans players made on Sunday morning.

The Swans players braved the rainy conditions at Richardson Park to offer their help first during the three Under 10 matches that were simultaneously being played at the venue before turning their attention to the upcoming Youth Girls 14s match between home team Sawtell/Toormina and the fledgling South West Rocks Dockers.

The Swans players got the two playing groups together and gave a quick talk to the incredibly appreciative girls before helping with their warm-ups and offering some worthwhile tips on how best to execute their skills.

The Sydney Swans AFLW team was in Coffs Harbour for three days and while they would’ve got plenty from the pre-season camp, it’s fair to say the young players in the local footy community got plenty out of it as well.
