North Coast Force is looking for rep players
Nominations are now open for all players wanting to be involved in the North Coast Force representative program which also doubles as the first step in the Sydney Swans Academy talent pathway.
Age groups for boys will be Under 13 (born 2010 and 2011), Under 15 (born 2008 and 2009), and Under 17 (born 2006 and 2007).
In the Youth Girls space, exciting plans are underway to add a Youth Girls 15 team to the Youth Girls 13 and Youth Girls 17 teams that competed in 2022.
Paul Taylor, Community Football Manager, said that the Force program continues to grow in reputation.
“The program has been building for five years now, with last year’s teams recording the best overall performances yet. This ongoing development of the program has led to the Force’s inclusion as a key element of Sydney Swans Academy’s local pathway, and is also the stepping stone to the highly successful Northern Heat program,” Taylor said.
“We’re especially excited that 2023 should be the first time we’re able to field a full complement of Youth Girls teams and we strongly encourage all girls to come along to the trials, no matter how new to the game or inexperienced they are.”
Trials will be held on Sunday 26 March and Sunday 2 April from 10:00am to 12:00pm (each day) at Wiigulga Sports Complex, with players needing to only attend one session. The trials are open to any player within the age groups that will play with an AFL North Coast club in 2023.
The selected Force teams will compete at the Hunter Challenge Cup on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June, and the Northern NSW Championships in Coffs Harbour from Saturday 8 to Monday 11 July.
Players that are selected into the program will need to pay a $100 levy which includes warm-up top, playing shorts, socks, and all costs associated with the training program.
