Swans getting on a roll
CHASING a third win on the trot, the Lismore Swans are continuing to snap at the heels of the competition leaders.
Players like Karli Schafer, Lili Hutchings, Holly Wall and leading goalkickers Amy Keen and Laura Cahill have been driving the Swans in their first year in the AFL North Coast competition.
On Saturday the Swans face another side who is playing its first season in the women’s competition.
Grafton is yet to win a game this season but Lismore coach Ken McPherson said nobody should think the Tigers are a team to be taken lightly. Particularly now that they’ve got some games of experience under their belts.
“They (Grafton) have improved out of sight,” McPherson said.
“And you sort of have to expect that as the year goes on.”

BLUES have a new challenge
HAVING overcome their biggest hoodoo, the next step for Northern Beaches is staying focused against all opponents.
Playing against another local rival just seven days after overcoming premiership favourite the Coffs Breakers, Northern Beaches coach Adrian Roberts said playing against Sawtell/Toormina will be a welcome task even though he will be fielding a slightly unsettled line-up.
“We’ve got a couple away but we’ve got a couple back,” Roberts said.
“We’ll use this as a game to be wary to be worried about because Sawtell are always improving and have always been a good contest for us. We’re not going to take them lightly put it that way.
“We want to keep going with our momentum.”
