Get in the Game: Umpires wanted for 2020
Are you a teenager looking to earn money but don’t want to stack shelves or flip burgers? Are you a little older, taking a break from playing footy but want to stay fit and connected to the game? Or just love your footy and wanting to learn a new skill?
Then Umpiring is the option for you!
AFL North Coast is looking to recruit new umpires ahead of the 2020 season for both the Senior and Junior competitions.
If you love footy, you’ll love being an umpire. Not only do you get the best view of the action, you also get paid for the privilege. Keep fit, be part of a team, and learn leadership skills for both on and off the field.
People interested in taking up umpiring need to complete an online Laws of the Game course, then can access coaching that is delivered within the region.
To umpire in the AFL North Coast Competition an individual must be a minimum of 12 years of age.
Umpiring is a great way for players to learn the rules of the game which helps greatly with their own development as players.
For more information on taking up umpiring please see the flyer.
An introduction to Umpiring will be conducted as part of the AFL North Coast Education Roadshow, comprising sessions on both the Laws of the Game and practical aspects such as positioning, signalling, and match management. This session will be held on Sunday 1 March at Nambucca RSL from 10:00am to 1:15pm. Please speak to your club President to register for this session.
