Cross Over rounds continue to be a hit

The highlight of the weekend’s round of Junior footy was the Cross Over fixtures in both Under 11 and Under 13 age groups that saw teams from the northern and southern conferences play each other.

The Under 11 teams came together at South West Rocks while the Under 13 teams congregated in Port Macquarie, with the Dockers and Magpies doing outstanding jobs as hosts.

Each location had ten teams in action, 150 players, and ten matches across two fields, totaling five hours of quality footy! With so many players in full uniforms plus supporters decked out in club gear, both grounds were a sea of colours.

The action was fast and furious with many present commenting that the playing standard has gone up again in 2019.

The Cross Over rounds have once again proved to be a hit amongst players, coaches, parents, and supporters. Not only do these days provide teams with the chance to compete in a gala day style format, they also reduce travel distances while offering variety in opponents. The southern Conference is Manning Valley (Taree) to Macleay Valley (Kempsey), whilst the northern conference covers Nambucca to Grafton.
