2019 will see AFL North Coast introduce an exciting new initiative – the Youth Leadership Accelerator Program.
The program is designed to teach leadership skills that will help participants in the sporting environment (on and off field), within their family life, at school, and in employment. Training will be delivered by Institute of Sport, a leading provider in this area.
The Youth Leadership Accelerator Program is for male and female players aged 13 to 18 (born 2001 to 2006) that are interested in learning and improving leadership skills. Players don’t have to be in a leadership role within their footy team to be eligible to be considered.
The program will include a full day of face to face tuition and exercises (Saturday 23 February) followed by online modules to reinforce the learning, and a requirement for the players to take on a leadership role within the sport to put the skills learnt into practice.
