First of the Junior Grand Finalists Decided

The first of the Grand Finalists in each age group of the Junior Competition have been decided with the other spot up for grabs in this Sunday’s Preliminary Finals.

Winning through to the Grand Finals were Port Macquarie Magpies’ Under 11 Black and Under 15.5 teams, Sawtell Toormina Saints’ Under 13 team, and Coffs Breakers Youth Girls team. These teams now earn the right to a week off to rest and prepare ahead of the Grand Final on Sunday 27 August whilst their potential opponents slog it out in the Preliminary Final.

The losers of the Major Semi Finals (1 v 2) get a second chance via the Prelim so will need to regroup quickly if they are to progress to the season decider. They play the winners of the Minor Semi Finals (3 v 4) who are full of confidence and keen to keep their winning ways going.

Sunday’s Preliminary Finals will be played at Richardson Park, Sawtell. The program for the day is as follows:

9:30am: Under 11 – Northern Beaches Blues v Coffs Breakers

10:45am: Under 13 – Macleay Valley Eagles v Bellingen Bulldogs

12:15pm: Youth Girls – Macleay Valley Eagles v Grafton Tigers

1:45pm: Under 15.5 – Sawtell Toormina Saints v Coffs Breakers

Winners of each of these matches earn the right to contest the Grand Finals, which are to be played on Sunday 27 August at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.
