Talented locals get Swans Academy call-up

THREE AFL North Coast players have been called up to play for the Sydney Swans Academy.

Beau Guthrie from the Coffs Breakers and Port Macquarie’s Cedar Barry have been chosen to play in the Swans’ under-16s team that will be playing in the under-16s Academy Championships.

Another Port Macquarie player, Will Kelly, has been chosen to play in the Swans’ under-17s squad which will be playing in the under-17 Futures Championships.

All three players have reached the Swans Academy after coming through the local pathway of playing with the North Coast Force and Northern Heat.

The trio will be representing the Sydney Swans Academy against the GWS Giants Academy teams at Blacktown International Sports Park on Saturday.

The championships will see the Swans further matches played against Northern Territory at Metricon Stadium and Tasmania in Hobart.
