Sydney Swans pay virtual visits to North Coast clubs

AFL North Coast clubs hosted Sydney Swans players for a video link conversation so that the Swans could better understand the local footy landscape.

Conscious of the recent rain and flooding that has occurred throughout the region, the Sydney Swans players were keen to understand the impact this has had at both at a community level and a footy level and wanted to show their support to local clubs.

Swans players involved in the online chats were Sam Reid, Jordan Dawson, Harry Cunningham, Barry O’Connor, Hayden McLean, Sam Wicks, Lewis Taylor, James Rowbottom, Joel Amartey, Justin McInerney, Robbie Fox, and Will Gould.

They were joined in the virtual experience by players and committee members from Sawtell Toormina Saints, Lismore Swans, Bellingen Bulldogs, South West Rocks Dockers, and Port Macquarie Magpies.

In addition to talking about the wet weather the Swans players used it as a chance to better understand the local footy environment, understand the positive growth that’s being achieved, and answer questions about life as a professional AFL player.

A huge thanks to the Sydney Swans for showing their interest in the region. We wish them the best of luck for the remainder of their season.
