At Ellem Oval, Grafton, Sawtell Toormina Saints completed routine wins over Grafton Tigers in the Seniors and Northern Beaches/Grafton in the Women’s.

The highlight of the Men’s match was Will Christopher’s haul of ten goals for the Saints. Team mate Felix Dunn added seven of his own on a day where Sawtell had ten individual goal kickers, with seven of these getting multiple goals.

Doug Perich of the Tigers finished his season in style as he slotted three goals for the hosts.

The Sawtell Women were almost as ruthless, booting a team tally of eight goals and holding the Blue Tigers to just one for the match.

Keira Basset kicked half of her team’s tally with four, with Ahlani Eddy, Jennifer Amato, Kasey Uikelotu, and Fiona Lane adding one goal each.

Maddy Anderson kicked her first goal in Women’s footy to round off what has been an excellent first year for the Blue Tigers.

In Reserve Grade, Northern Beaches Blues marked an incredible return to the AFL North Coast competition when they claimed the Minor Premiership.

Reforming this season after a 13 year break, the Blues have been in a three way tussle with Breakers and Port since round 1. All three teams headed into the last round with the chance to claim first place, and wins to the Blues and Port saw the Northern Beaches side finish at the top of the ladder. They will look to use this as a launch pad towards not only the Finals Series, but also as a push to re-enter the top grade in the very near future.

The Under 17 Minor Premiership went to Sawtell Toormina Saints who were pushed all the way by Coffs Harbour Breakers.

With the bulk of the Saints team coming from last year’s Premiership winning Under 15 outfit the foundation was set for a positive season. These players have made a seamless transition to the older age group and will take some stopping in the upcoming Finals Series.
