Big Women’s clashes in round 4

There are two great clashes scheduled for round 4 of the Women’s Competition, where all teams will be desperate to claim and stamp their mark on the competition.

The Sawtell Women have climbed to the top of the ladder for the first time this season. They take on the Port Macquarie Magpies who many are tipping for a Grand Final berth.

The Magpies were missing several key players last week when they lost to Breakers and will be expecting to be close to full strength when they play at home. Poor kicking for goal cost Port opened the door for Sawtell to claim a draw in the opening round but Port seem to have rectified this since.

Sawtell know that they need to be on top of their game and take full toll of every chance they’re presented with if they are to beat Port. Most pleasing for coach Glenn Eddy in last week’s performance would have been the spread of contributors, proving that the Saints aren’t a one trick team.

Northern Beaches/Grafton had a great first round performance but have suffered heavy defeats in both of their last two outings. They are learning about the weekly challenge of being up for the contest and will take great heart from how hard they pushed the Breakers in their first encounter of the season.

Breakers are buoyant after the best win in the two seasons of the team’s history. They will be looking to push on and prove to themselves and the other clubs that they can be a premiership contender in 2019. They need to beat the Northern Beaches/Grafton team to prove their credentials.
